I'm starting to wrap up doing starships appearing in Winx Club animated series as there are only small number of outstanding designs worthy to be updated and included in my concept work based on the Winx Club animated series dedicated to fix mistakes and expand lore of the series (approx. 1-2 ships left to recreate after the current ship shown in render). For now I've taken the prison ship shown in the first episode of Winx Club season 3 and named it Magpie-class transport ship.
One of the most common starship types used by officials, companies, military and civillians, transport ship is suitable to carry passengers and cargo. It is also able to participate in direct combat with correct modifications. Magpie-class is an old model built in the Magix kingdom. In service since mid 20th century. The ship proved to be versatile and durable allowing it to remain in active service nowadays without any need of replacement. Various modifications are used by military, police, companies, civillians and even outlaws like pirates, gangsters, sects etc. The Magpie-class variation seen in the render is a basic cargo hauler. The other variation - prison ship used by police - is seen in the first episode of Winx Club season 3 marooning Trix witches on hazardous snow-covered prison world of Omega for lifetime imprisonment (but they soon escaped their predicament with the help of Valtor).
Overall design of Magpie-class tranport ship is smooth. Its cockpit can afford 4 crewmembers (ship's commander, co-pilot and 2 extra ops). Behind the cockpit the cargo section is situated. There are 12 cargo holds marked from A to L both on inside and outside. The lack of living and sanitary zones means that the ship isn't intended for long-term trips (but it is possible to install spartan living and sanitary zones on several variations). Main door is on the left side, it splits in two parts which swing in opposite directions when the ship opens, with lower section creating a ramp. The ship controls the same as on other Magix and Red Fountain ships - the Star Trek type touch consoles, all lit more turquoise (instead of green like on Red Fountain craft). Magpie-class ship seen in the render is colored white and turquise, a general color scheme of Magix military vehicles as opposed to Red Fountain's solid red (same thing for interior - yellowish on Magix military ships. white and blue and Red Fountain ones). Standard weaponry of Magpie-class is limited to 4 twin blaster cannons, 2 of which are mounted on turrets. The ship is powered by 3 sets of engines. 2 main sets include 3 thrusters and they're located on nacelles which swing upward in landing position (not unlike most Star Wars shuttles). Secondary set include one bigger engine with 10 nozzles. Magpie-class transport ship, similar to Crow-class fighter, is equipped with lifting engines located on nacelles and two wings at the aft of the ship.
Yeah, I know, the ship doesn't look as the same as in the series. Frankly said, I've never had intention of creating the exact copy of the ship - at least something similar.
