I introduce new starship from my concept work based on the Winx Club animated series dedicated to fix mistakes and expand lore of the series. This is Schedar, a Dawn-3-class light freighter.
The light freighter type serves to transport goods from planet to planet much faster than it could be done on bigger cargo haulers. Light freighters are versatile, as the can be used as blockade runners and even heavy fighters. In the concept, the Dawn-3 class is one of the common light freighters in the whole Magic universe used by companies and individual pilots. It is produced by Solarian engineering corps since 19th century. This particular ship, Schedar, belongs to one of the Winx Club series characters - Riven. Long before him, before this freighter got the name Schedar, it was once in use in Solaria kingdom. Then it was taken by a gang of pirate raiders, who used this ship in their raids and to transport stolen goods. By the time of the season 6 of the series, the gang was defeated by specialists, fairies and sorcerers team led by concept's protagonist, Alec. The team confiscated pirate raiders' surviving fleet, including this freighter. When Riven broke apart from his friends following his disappointment with his relationship with Musa, he took a mission from Red fountain intelligence to inflitrate Neutral worlds, track down and capture several wanted criminals (including Riven's own father). For this mission, Alec gave Riven this freighter, now rechristened as Schedar. After completing his mission, Riven was allowed to retain the Schedar as his personal vehicle. He used it to travel around the Magic universe, particularly visiting Jenolan, Zenith, Titania, Eon, Amalthea and Romulea. After this he met his friends stranded on Omega during a dangeroud mission. He helped them to fight back against one of the native lifeforms, but the Schedar was badly damaged. While Schedar was being repaired, Riven joined his friends for the rest of the season 8 of the animated series. By the time of the concept, Riven still used this ship when he took a position of patrol group leader stationed at the Melody and Zenith border.
Dawn-3-class freighter features rough design since this is made to haul cargo, not people. There are six seats in the cockpit. Four of them are for optional crewmembers. The other two were for commander and second pilot. Riven rerouted most functions from second pilot's console on commander's console since he was travelling alone on his ship. This is why living zone has only one bed, intended for commander. Riven placed additional storage boxes where the second bed originally was. Schedar's main weapons are Red fountain issued blaster cannons - 4 course cannons and the 6 mounted on three turrets, 2 cannons per tower. These weapons are an upgrade given by Riven after Schedar became his personal vehicle. Secondary weapons are Zenithian triple missile launchers, also mounted by Riven. He also painted Red fountain's symbol on the engines some time before he became patrol group leader. Schedar's engines are actually of zenithian origin - an upgrade given by pirates.
Mostly I didn't use any of sources for inspiration. Just took a bit from Confessor and Scylla from Star Conflict and tweaked them.
The class and name are references to old soviet movie Moscow-Cassiopeia (Москва-Кассиопея), referencing the ship from the movie and its destination planet.
