Hyperion-class cruiser (fan design)

Here's another new starship from my concept work based on the Winx Club animated series dedicated to fix mistakes and expand lore of the series. It is one of the big vessels about to be in the concept. The Hyperion-class cruiser, one of the main starship classes of Solaria kingdom's navy.

The main roles of such ships are that of battlefield command center and strike force, specifically built for combat. According to concept's lore, Hyperion-class cruisers are one of the most ancient starships in active service in modern days. These vessels, like other Solarian and Eraklyonian ones, were built in 16th century to act in the last interstellar war. In its aftermath, majority of the states were left unable to sustain their fleets of big vessels due to ruined economics. These ships were decomissioned and stored on special dry docks in flight-capable state, while most ships of other states were either placed in museums or scrapped. But stored Solarian and Eraklyonian ships survived all the centuries to be deployed in the present time. The particular ships of this class shown in render - the Polaris - acts as a flagship of Solarian navy. After being recovered and restored to full combat capability, the Polaris will be given to one of the Winx - Stella - to command. Her No.1 will be Brandon, and Nova will take on chief engineer station.

It features streamlined hull design, covered mostly in golden and silver plating - it is specific trait of all big vessels of Solaria kingdom's navy. Primary weapons are 12 particle beam emitters, secondary weapons are 48 plasma turrets, placed in 12 rows of 4. Shield generators are placed in similar manner, but in 8 rows of 3. The ship has 6 engines, with 3 on each side. It is powered with an artificial star encased in a sphere in the aft section - the solar core. It could be ejected in case of irreversible destabilization event and used as a makeshift atomic bomb, but it will leave the ship's FTL drive powerless and main engines partially operational, as they draw energy directly from the core. To minimize the risk of the event the core is protected with gravitational field, able to deflect most of energy and torpedo attacks (represented in the render with yellowish glow). The ships also has 4 hangars, 2 large and 2 smaller ones. Their total capacity is a bit lower thant a single hangar of Red Fountain's Condor-class battlecruiser.
