Trenar, Wayfarer-class science ship (fan design)

And now, a starship from season 8 of Winx Club animated series totally refurbished for my concept work based on the Winx Club animated series dedicated to fix mistakes and expand lore of the series. This is science ship piloted by Prometian scientist Orion, now bearing the name Trenar.

Science ships are commonly used to closely examine space phenomenae and solve science-based issues. Typically science ships are small sized, like transport ships and light freighters, but some of them can be around the size of a frigate or escort ship. Wayfarer-class science ships were built on Prometia as one of the new ship classes equipped with FTL drives recently developed and put in use by Prometians. One particular ship seen in the render is the Trenar, piloted by the young scientist named Orion. Once he led an expedition to a lumen kingdom located within pocket dimension of his home star Iridia. However, Orion accidentally destroyed the magic star core leaving the star unable to produce light and heat thus dooming Prometia to cold death. In his search for solution Orion stole several magic ruby gems. His actions drew attention from Red Fountain intelligence who sent Sky's team to intercept Orion. Sky's specialists apprehanded Orion not long after stealing another ruby and leaving lumen ship Peripla and forced to work with them and the Winx fairies. Soon Orion was able to use Syderian crystalls provided by the Winx to create replacements for the destroyed magic cores of the Iridia and the terran Sun.

Wayfarer-class ship's hull has mostly rough design, essentially different from the "steampunk sail ship" seen in the series. At least, Wayfarer-class retains a sphere and loading bay at the aft of the ship and 3 "sails" located at the front. Sphere contains scientific equipment used to scan and analyze space phenomenae, planets' atmosphere, geological structure and lifesigns and etc. Three "sails" are part of long range sensor system, also connected to the sphere. Modifications made by Orion allow to use the "sails" to project magic mist around the ship allowing it to phase through asteroids and enemy vessels. Loading bay was originally intended for probes but were replaced with mines - the only defensive mechanism of the ship (its power core doesn't allow using the common directed energy weapons). The ship's cockpit is small, it is located in the front of the ship. The pilot sees his surroundings through AR screen connected to cameras on the spheres. Very similar system has already been in use on Red Fountain's Crow-class fighters. There's main hall just below the sphere. It is separated from cockpit with a hallway that also leads to 2 crew quarters for long-term crewmembers and sanitary zone. Entrance hall is below the main hall and is accessed by a ladder that swings back and forth to allow access to entrance or main hall from the hallway. The ship's propulsion system includes two old-fashioned engines.

I didn't use any particular source of inspiration for this ship. However, it bears some resemblance to Bebop from Cowboy Bebop anime and Husnock warship from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
