This concept was originally developed over 10 years ago, which is now recycled for my 'The Magix' concept based on Winx Club cartoon as Aw'ilix-class warship.
Warship is a synonimous term to destroyer, a tactically-oriented escort vessel with greater maneuverability and more powerful weapons, but used by only military-oriented states. This term no longer applies to destroyers that were produced by Magical dimension's main kingdoms and will be later made (when concept's plot goes far enough from start), but it is persistent in some neighbouring states, including Dark dimension ones. Aw'ilix-class hails from Dark dimension kingdom, The Dominion of Sunava, populated by alien species deviated from humanoid jevar'yanshi present in other Magical dimension realms (they're actually present in cartoon as Red fountain specialists with blue skin and diamond-shaped ridges on their foreheads - the species' name is my addition for the concept). Unlike major kingdoms, which didn't have starships larger than 300-400 meters long frigates and haulers, Dark dimension kingdoms keep several such ships at their disposal. Aw'ilix-class warships were first encountered during Dark dimension conflict as flagships of Souram-Kahn cult - dark magic sect who fought on Darkar's side. After this war ended, these ships still pop up from time to time being used by remaining servants of Darkar, but they're very few active. Many were grounded due to lack of knowledge of Sunavan technologies specifications and loss of contact with Sunava (consequently, very little people knew how to repair, refit, operate these vessels). The ship pictured here is Carnifex, a flagship of Suram-Kahn cult, one of few flight-capable Aw'ilix-class warships. The Aw'ilix-class has also served as a vague basis for Uppercut-class escort built by Hegemony of Saburo, also a Dark dimension state.
The warship's hull is sleek and is divided into five sections. Four smaller and longer ones with engines at the rear are placed around bigger and shorter one. While two sections are directly built into main hull, the other two are placed on pylons connecting them to upper sections and main hull. Upper sections are also connected by a large pylon, atop of which a weapons tower is placed. The green-lit streak at the dorsal side of main hull is a main caliber of warship, a magically powered particle oscillator. When fully charged, it shoots 5 rapid pulses at the target, crippling or destroying it, depending on current state of damage or how fragile target is. For example, 5 shots are enough to disable a Nightjar or Cassowary class frigate, or even destroy it in fiery blast. But this weapon requires a large amount of energy, and as such its usage is limited to specific targets only. The rear tower houses a smaller version of this weapon, capable of firing withing 360-degree range, but is much weaker. Additional weapons include 12 particle beam emitters and 4 mass driver cannons, loaded with classic projectiles, not unlike the ones on Serenian Yarovit-class frigates. But the ammo is refilled by magically converting materials of passing by asteroids and space debris. Tribal-styled markings on the hull are a cultural aspect of Sunava, painted on many of their starships. This also applies to 'cannibalized' look with exposed glowing elements. The inscriptions are written with alphabet of Magi letters sometimes seen in Winx Club cartoon - in my concept, this alphabet is native for many Dark dimension states. There are two types of inscriptions - the name of ship (in this case, Carnifex) and extra inscription (here, it reads Ave Darkar, signalling Sunava's affiliation with Darkar). The glowing module built in the main hull's nose is a powerful sensor pod. The rear of main hull has three hangar doors made in diaphragm fashion.
Both the original concept and the Aw'ilix class are based on Akira-class escort from Star Trek.
