Eridan, the magical starship (fan design)

Here's a new ship from my concept work based on the Winx Club animated series dedicated to fix mistakes and expand lore of the series. As part of this expansion I added this vessels which works on pure magic, the Eridan (name is derived from Eridanus, the name of a river from ancient Greek mythology).

According to my concept, magical ships were commonplace along with conventional ships during the Earth's medieval period, but then vanished out of existence during the last interstellar war, when some exploit caused the ships' magic cores being corrupted with dark magic and "go mad". It wasn't until the late 20th century when a brand new magical ship would be built, which was the Eridan.

So, in 20th century there was a conflict in Magic Dimension, during which major kingdoms (Domino, Eraklyon, Solaria, Magix etc) fought against Darkar and his dark troops (Dark dimension conflict). As conflict during its final stages reached its height with Darkar assault on Koria (which later resulted in occupation of the kingdom), Domino's shipyards in the kingdom's capital system constructed the Eridan, which was classified as Inquiry-class light cruiser, with intention to place surgical strikes on kingdoms' enemies, specifically built for combat, both ship-to-ship and space-to-surface. Its crew included one of the best magic wielders of Domino - the ship's commander Simon, his No. 1 Lorenzo and chief engineer Miranda. But Eridan never saw action in the conflict as three Ancestral witches attacked the capital world of Domino that ended with planet's devastation with Obsidian's dark magic. Wave of this magic expanded through the star system, affecting Eridan that was still in shipyard on the nearby planet. The ship was partly finished, anti-dark magic countermeasures weren't fully functional, corruption entered uncharged magic core and then progressively took over the ship, exposing Eridan's crew (which were all sorcerers and fairies) to Ancestral witches' will, making them eradicate any remnants of Domino on their path, but Domino's remnant's and Red fountain's forces were able to overpower Eridan, forcing it to escape and go into hiding for almost 30 years. At the start of main plot of the concept, Eridan has returned, attacking various space stations and planets of major kingdoms' periphery, taking thousands of innocent lives. It's main objective for main heroes in the pilot plot - to stop the Eridan from doing any more harm.

Despite this bad history with magical ships in the concept, there's one such vessel remains still in good shape and not being corrupted with dark magic - this is lumen ship, Peripla, a wandering star that appeared in season 8 of the Winx Club.

Back to Eridan, its hull styling is shared with many other conventional ships, and as such, is distinguished from them by having magic crystall implacements that glow blue and purple. There are 20 crystall emitters scattered across the hull, they are the Eridan's main weapons that can fire standard magic bolts or destructive discharges, generate tractor beams, initiate power transfer and etc (conventional ships use separate devices for each function). The ship also has much more powerful crystall emitter, that is circular one, located on the ventral hull. It functions as main caliber, it slowly fires, but has devastating effect. Bigger crystall formations are used as engines for the ship, with floating crystall spheres used to generate and direct thrust, similar to modern Terran jet fighters. The rigs inserted in crystall formations were used during ship's construction to control growth of the crystalls. Eridan's magic shields, much like earlier magical ships, are much stronger than conventional force fields, requiring special EM weapons to effectively beat them (much of these weapons are discontinued by the time of modern days and no longer in use). These shiels are emitted from two generator located on dorsal hull on top of engine sections. Eridan also has two hangar, each of them could fit 3-4 Red Fountain Owl-class transport ships.

The ship you see there is "fresh out of a shipyard", just before the dark magic corruption.
There was no clear source of inspiration, but the engine layout is derived from engines of Ellydium ships from Star Conflict.
