Valor-class battleship (fan design)

Here's another new starship from my concept work based on the Winx Club animated series dedicated to fix mistakes and expand lore of the series. The Eraklyonian Valor-class battleship, the most powerful starship class in Eraklyon kingdom's navy.

Its role mostly field command center and strike force, specifically built for combat. The ship holds perfectly in ship-to-ship combat, able to single-handedly take on 3-4 cruiser-level enemy vessels, but fleet-to-fleet engagements require to hold the ship behind the lines, its low maneuverability cannot ensure ship's survival in fight against many enemy vessels. According to concept's lore, Valor-class battleships are one of the most ancient starships in active service in modern days. These vessels, like other Eraklyonian and Solarian ones, were built in 16th century to act in the last interstellar war. In its aftermath, majority of the states were left unable to sustain their fleets of big vessels due to ruined economics. After decomissioning, they were stored in drydocks and maintained in flight-capable state. They survived all the centuries to be deployed in the modern days. The particular ships of this class shown in render - the Wolfhound - serves as a flagship of Eraklyon kingdom's navy. During the last interstellar war it was commanded by Andreas, who ended this war and took position as a king of Eraklyon, he is Erendor's and Sky's predecessor. In modern days, the Wolfhound will be commanded by crown prince Sky, who now acts as a supreme commander of Eraklyon's military after leaving Red Fountain corps.

The ship features more rough military-style design with grey and dark-orange paintjob similar to Eraklyon shuttles seen in the original Winx Club series. Primary weapons are 47 plasma turrets, secondary weapons are 52 railgun turrets, all scattered across the hull. Shield generators are placed in 3 arrays, two of which are placed under wing sections and the other at the top of hangar section. The ship has four engines located on wing sections, with 2 on each section. There are 5 spire arrays - they're communication arrays. Sensors are located in the front of the ship. It lacks maneuvering thrusters, using EM fields for maneuvering instead, one of the few outdated systems left after being recomissioned and retrofitted (on modern ships repulsor fields are only used as lifting engines). EM field had to be reworked due to bad experience with this technology around the last interstellar war (some planets suffered a magnetic field collapse caused by this class' EM fields resulting in an extreme climate change up to the point of being uninhabitable). The other outdated system of the battleship is the computer network, it still contains original logs and recordings made by Andreas during the last interstellar war. It has two hangars in the middle section, each smaller than a single hangar of Condor-class battlecruiser.

The paintjob and hull plating you see here are modern ones, applied after being retrofitted. Older plating and paintjob were much different.

Its sources of inspiration are Cybercarrier from Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica.
