Another Winx Club comic series ship adapted for my concept work based on the Winx Club animated series dedicated to fix mistakes and expand lore of the series. Now I took the royal transport from Issue 15, now expanded and modified as an Umbriel-class assault ship.
Assault ships are bigger than more common transport ships, freighters and shuttles, having more inner space for troopers, much powerful weapons and being well armored. Typically weapons take so much power, that the ship couldn't support omni-directional turrets like smaller ships have. It's possible to rework power relays, so one could install additional turrets, but it depends on pilot's or organization's preferences. Unlike Hawk-class assault ship, the Umbriel-class is unable to hold a hangar for support craft due to narrow hull. Howerver, this ship is a bit more maneuverable than its Red Fountain counterpart. Umbriel-class has been in production since around 80s, before attack on Domino. Used within Eraklyonian military not only as an assault ship - one such ship was put as a royal transport for King Erendor and Queen Samara - just as Umbriel-class' counterpart in Issue 15. But not only Eraklyonian military would use this ship - its older and battle-scarred models would find their way into the hands of Neutral worlds' mercenaries, pirates and others.
Umbriel-class assault ship has sleek, narrow hull. The ship has 8 lifting engines and 4 main engines. It is separated into three rooms - frontal one is passenger section accessed via doorways in the front, middle one is the cargo hold acessed via hexagon-shaped loading bays and the cockpit with 4 stations accessed via ladder. The grille modules between doors and loading bays are particle collectors. Main weapons of the are 2 tripled plasma cannons mounted on pylons, they slide upward when deploying. The secondary one is ventral mounted particle beam turret, its barrels locking in vertical position when deploying. The aft section was created from scratch - the comic page the original ship was featured on did not provide full aft view of it. I also 'stretched' the model, moved cockpit a bit away from frontal section and made additional plating between collector and loading bay.
Yeah, I know, the ship doesn't look as the same as in the comic series. Frankly said, I've never had intention of creating the exact copy of the ship - at least something similar.
