ЗАРЯ (Dawn)

This fan-made recreation of a ship is from Soviet union fiction, it is sublight starship ЗАРЯ (pronounced as [zarya], it stands for Звездолет Аннигиляционный Релятивистский Ядерный - Annihilation Relativistic and Nuclear powered starship) from the Moscow-Cassiopeia dilogy.

This starship was originally a project developed by soviet pioneer Victor Sereda. When the project was accepted, the ship was built by Soviet union in response to alien signal from Alpha Cassiopeiae system (also known as Schedar system) in an effort to make contact with extra-terrestrial beings. It was intended to spend 26 years travelling from Sol to Schedar (and other 26 years from Schedar to Sol), being commanded by a young crew of 6 pioneers (3 boys, 3 girls; excluding 1 boy-stowaway), while passing hundreds of years on Earth due to relativistic effects, until the accidental discovery of limited warp capability (thanks to stowaway who inadvertenly tampered with ship controls console) which caused the ship to travel almost all the path within few onboard minutes (and 40 years on Earth) and engage in first contact with aliens and liberation of their homeworld from rebel machines while pioneers were still teenagers.

Main hull is ring-shaped with cross-shaped tubes within it. The command module is at the front of the hull, it features seats for 3-boy command crew (others were seated primarily in lab and medical sections). Two photonic-annihilation engines are positioned on large pylons which contain hydrogen storage sections and particle collectors. Engines flicker with white while active. While the design was based on the studio model of the movie and existing 3d models, I tried, in some aspects, reconsile interior and close-up shots where it was possible. As such, there are port and starboard hatches on the main hull - an airlock and waste disposal section (labeled in movie as КО - Камера очистки (Clearing cell)), two large antennae at the aft of the main hull (one is seen on close-up shot of recon pod leaving the hangar placed in starboard pylon), and exterior of the command module made of 6 windows - 2 large ones and 4 smaller ones.

Maybe it's not as good as in the actual movie, I just tried to recreate it on my own.

P.S.: It's the ЗАРЯ (Dawn) that gave me an inspiration for naming a light freighter from my Magix concept work with Dawn going for ship's class name and Schedar - for the ship's own name
